"BITTER BOND"

My heart aches
When I think of the ruler
Who came, played and conquered
May be it was my fault to love you
Precious was our love, but
It was throttled by your ego
I couldn't slow down my steps
As I had already drunk your loves poison
And now there's no point of taking any remedy

After a distanced conversation
We both had parted
Yet I did my part of begging
To save our bond
But I suppose
You weren't a benevolent man
My question was very simple,
"what's my fault"
And was answered by saying
"I don't know"

Why did you not love me the way I am?
Why did you not feel my pain?
We were better as strangers i feel
Neither of us would have been hurt
"Lets be just friends and nothing more than that"
Were the most bitter words
Which tore my entire soul.

"why does It hurt still?"
